Song Of Truth Fast Tempo

Jonathan Malone (songwriter, worship leader, and pal 'o mine) wrote this with a little help from me.
No percussion on this demo version...If you were adding some percussion, what would be your choices? Comments?

  1. LP yellow and blue twist shakers for the verse and conga/bongo grooves for the chorus. Nice song!

  3. Hi Mark,

I am the latin percussion/multi-percussionist at my church (Concord First Assembly in Concord, NC). You have inspired me with a lot of great ideas to add to my section during Praise and Worship. Keep the creativity flowing.....your site is a blessing to me. I'm the "anonymous" comment person above too...!!!
My set up includes Pearl Primero Congas and bongos, Remo16 inch Djmbe, Remo 10 inch Djmbe, Pearl Timbales, Musser Orchestra Bells, Musser 3 1/2 octave Vibraphone, Three mounted LP Tamborines, LP large trap table (760A), various triangles, Treeworks chimes, Gonbops Waterfall chimes, LP Rainstick almost every LP shaker that is out right now.

Yes, the LP Twist Shakers are AWESOME!!! The cool thing is that there are 3 colors.....Red (loudest), Blue (medium) and Yellow (soft). You can take the shakers a part and mix different colors together for different tone colors and accents. Check them out, they rock.

  5. Hey...How about sending me a photo of your set up. I would like to get it on the blog.
By the way...my Master's degree is from East Carolina University and I think that I've performed in the Concord area in times past.
    Send the photo to markshelton@verizon.net

  6. Sure thing Mark.....I'll take some pictures and send them to you next week. I went to ASU and majored in music education and percussion performance. I am a middle school band director in the piedmont area of NC. I also marched DCI (Drum and Bugle Corps) with The Florida Wave Drum and Bugle Corps and The Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps back from 1989-92. Concord's about a 30 minute drive north of Charlotte.
